Father's Day this Sunday at Ajax Downs packs a punch with prize packs from Town Brewery, the final of the $55,700 ONTARIO BRED DERBY and an appearance by 3-time Horse of the Year COUNTRY BOY 123.
Ajax Downs continues its 50th anniversary season with another afternoon of giveaways, this weekend honouring our horse racing-loving Dads.
On track 10 of the best 3-year-olds bred in Ontario will battle in out in the 8th Ontario Bred Derby at 300 yards headed by the fillies FIVE BAR FANDANGO, winner of the fastest of two trials two weeks ago unde rleading rider Tony Phillips andSHE'S SIZZLING, who was placed first her trial through disqualification with Ramiro Castillo up.
Also competing on the seven-race card is fan favourite COUNTRY BOY 123 who will try something new on Sunday. The 6-year-old gelding, second in both of this appearances this year, will shorten up to 110 yards for the Overnight Sprint series, the Gridiron Gallop, facing Alberta champion Bringonthewave.
It is sure to be a fun, fast and exciting afternoon at the Quarter Horse races on Sunday. First post is 12:55 p.m.
